On the morning of August 6, 2026, China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA) and World Society of Surgical Oncology held a successful high-level strategic meeting.

CACA’s President Prof. Daiming Fan, Vice President Prof. Ying Wang, and International Affairs Department Director Lijun Zhang met with WSSO President Dr. Alexandre Ferreira Oliveira, General Secretary Dr. Felipe Coimbra, Scientific Director Dr. Rodrigo Pinheiro, and Executive Manger Mrs. Daniela Barros. They had in-depth discussions about global cancer treatment plans, sharing academic resources, and future cooperations. Both sides reached an agreement to form a more collaborative partnership.

Prof. Wang chaired the meeting. First, each organization introduced its history, main mission, and key activities, which helped build better understanding and trust.

Prof. Fan explained CACA's recent achievements in building oncology as a discipline, developing and promoting Chinese-style cancer treatment guidelines, and running widespread public education on cancer prevention and control. He showed China's active role and open attitude in global cancer work. He said that stronger cooperation between Chinese and Western surgical communities is very important strategically. CACA focuses on full-cycle cancer management (prevention, screening, diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation), and WSSO focuses directly on the tumor treatment.

WSSO President Dr. Oliveira spoke highly of CACA's large organization, academic success, and international influence. He expressed great admiration for Prof. Fan's leadership and vision. During the meeting, he warmly invited Prof. Fan and CACA experts to attend the WSSO annual meeting in Brazil later this year.

This meeting gave strong momentum to practical and efficient future cooperation between the two organizations. In today's complex international situation with frequent regional conflicts, CACA will continue to follow an open and inclusive approach. It will actively respond to national calls, deepen international medical and scientific exchanges, promote global understanding and trust, and show the responsibility and contribution of Chinese academic organizations.
