The 2025 International Concensus Guideline (IG-2024) on Delineation of CTV for Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma (NPC) and China-Turkiye Anti-Cancer Summit was successfully held on August 2, 2025. The event was jointly organized by China Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), Hong Kong Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma Study Group (HK NPCSG), and Turkish Society for Radiation Oncology (TSRO). The summit attracted audiences from 11 countries, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Turkiye, Spain, Portugal, Bulgaria, Pakistan, and the Philippines, with over 12.4 million views during the live broadcast.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by Prof. Daiming Fan, the President of CACA and Asian Oncology Society (AOS); Prof. Anna Lee, Chairman of HK NPCSG; and Prof. Banu Atalar, President of TSRO. Prof. Fan highlighted the importance of global cooperation in cancer research and praised the progress made in China-Turkiye collaboration on NPC. Prof. Lee shared the 30-year journey of HK NPCSG and thanked CACA for supporting the event. Prof. Atalar noted the differences in treatment approaches have long existed and that new guidelines will help doctors worldwide using a unified method to improve treatment accuracy and reduce side effects.
The summit was co-chaired by Prof. Anna Lee and Prof. Enis Özyar from Turkiye’s Acibadem University. Experts like Prof. Sue Yom, Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Radiation Oncology Biology Physics, and Prof. Kevin Harrington from UK’s Institute of Cancer Research discussed the value of standardized radiation therapy guidelines. Case studies were also presented by Prof. Guo Qiaojuan from Fujian Cancer Hospital and Prof. Victor Lee from University of Hong Kong, showing how the guidelines work in real-world treatments.
The event concluded with closing remarks from Prof. Fan, who praised the summit’s success and expressed hope for deeper China-Turkiye collaboration in cancer research to benefit patients worldwide.
This summit strengthened exchanges between China and Turkiye in NPC treatment and helped promote international treatment guidelines. With more global cooperation, future treatments are expected to become more precise and effective, bringing new hope to patients.
