YY Call for Proposals - Deadline 15 July 2015

The Fellowships team of UICC is pleased to announce the call for proposals for the 2015 Yamagiwa-Yoshida (YY) Memorial International Cancer Study Grants.

The YY Fellowship provides a unique opportunity to carry out international research and significantly increase your knowledge and research skills, preparing you to better compete internationally. Please note that the application closing date is 15th July 2015

Please find below some key information regarding the fellowship:

WHAT 

  • 3 months International Fellowship
  • Award value of USD 10,000

AIMS

  • to initiate, set-up or pursue bilateral cancer research projects with collaborating investigators abroad
  • to receive training in advanced experimental research methods and techniques
  • to exploit complementary skills and material

WHO 

Individuals with:

  • scientific or medical qualifications and a minimum of two years postdoctoral experience
  • actively engaged in cancer research 
  • have recent publications in international peer-reviewed literature

WHY

A recent survey conducted among UICC fellows confirms the high impact of fellowships on capacity-building, showing exceptional trends related to publishing, international collaboration and career path.

  • 60% of fellows have published with their hosts or are in the process of publishing with them
  • 80% are still collaborating with their hosts
  • More than 80% of fellows seek careers in their home countries upon return...read more here.
