The Annual Meeting of China Association for Science and Technology: Symposium on the Strategy for Esophageal Cancer was held in Zhengzhou, China on Sept 18, 2008. Prof. Guangchao Zhang, The General Secretary of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association delivered the welcome speech in the opening ceremony. The participants of the conference was composed of 58 experts and academicians who had been researching on the prevention of esophageal cancer and 115 medical workers and researchers who had been working at the high incident areas of esophageal oncology.

　　On the symposium, after the excellent lectures from the invited speakers, the attendees of the conference further discussed the incidence and morality of esophageal cancer and its treatment. The animated discussion was followed by the professional advises, including:

　　1. keep the treatment of esophageal cancer on the international level

　　2. put emphasis on prevention of esophageal and promote pilot areas

　　3. apply funds from government

　　4. popularize the relevant knowledge
