The 22nd APCC in Tianjin, China was successfully held from 1 Nov. to 2 Nov.( 31 Oct. as Registration Day), 2013. 1555 registered delegates and invited experts attended the conference, including 1400 Chinese delegates; 155 delegates coming from Canada, U.S.A., U.K., Germany, Switzerland, Sweden, Belgium, Australia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippine, Thailand, Nepal, Mongolia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Russia, Bangladesh, India, Burma, Cambodia, Chinese Hong Kong, Chinese Taiwan, etc.

Scientific Programs

The scientific programs of the conference included 3 plenary sessions with 9 presentations; 18 concurrent sessions with 176 oral speakers; 2 satellite sponsored symposia.There are total 950 papers received by the conference, 233 papers selected as poster presentation.

Jin-Pok Kim  Memorial Lectureship Award

Dr. Yan Sun (China) has been elected as the 4th Kim Jin-Pok Memorial Lectureship at the 22nd APCC.

Travel Grants

The Conference Committee provided Travel Grants to 5 outstanding delegates with oral/poster presentation from low- and middle- income countries. During the 22nd APCC, 5 delegates (one of them absent) from 24 candidates were awarded Travel Grants Fund. They are: Dr. Rakesh Kumar Gupta (Nepal); Dr. Robin Joshi (Nepal); Dr. Manu Sharma(India); Dr. Bayarsaihan Enkhjargal (Mongolia); Dr. Prashant Kumbhaj (India, Absent).

Young Investigators’ Award

APFOCC encourages young investigators' participation in APCC. By the 22nd APCC, 10 Young Investigators (5 Oral, 5 Poster) were selected from 57 applications (43 from overseas, 14 from China) to take the Young Investigators' Award.

Asia Pacific Cancer Control Leaders’ Summit

During the 22nd APCC, Asia Pacific Cancer Control Leaders’ Summit was held 18:00 -20:00 on 1 Nov. 2013. 150 invited delegates attended the Leaders’ Summit, 10 invited speakers made speeches. The Theme of this Leaders’ Summit: Strategy of Cancer Control in Asia Pacific Countries, divided into 2 Panel discussions:

Topic 1: Reduce Cancer Burden in Asia Pacific Countries;

Topic 2: Accelerate Progress on Cancer Control in Asia Pacific Countries.
