　　It is the fourth year for Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to host series of large events themed “Today’s Children, Tomorrow’s World” throughout the world in 2011. As the member of the Board of Director and UICC China Spoke，Chinese Anti-Cancer Association(hereinafter CACA) actively responds to the call of UICC and hosted series of themed advocacy campaigns nationwide every year. The theme of 2011 “World Cancer Day” is “Cancer is a preventable disease”, aiming to appealing to the public to build the awareness of cancer prevention and control, to highlight focuses, to prevent sun properly and to lower the risk of skin cancer among children.

　　A new research released on World Cancer Day by the World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF) shows that by choosing a healthy diet, being physically active and maintaining a healthy weight around 620,000 (or one in three) cases of cancer in China could be prevented each year.

　　Dr. Xi-Shan Hao, the President of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association, as the spokeman of UICC World Cancer Day in China, demonstrated “It is distressing that even in 2011 people are dying from cancers that could be prevented through diet, exercise and other healthy living initiatives. We still have a chance to avert cancer boom in China before it is too late, so we urge the public and the Government to make cancer prevention education and support a public health priority.”
