The 11th Academic Chinese Conference on Malignant Lymphoma, CACA and the Opening Ceremony of Sino-US Center for Lymphoma and Leukemia in Tianjin was held on October 21-23, 2009. This grand conference was sponsored by the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association Specialized Committee on Lymphoma and organized by the Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital and University of Nebraska Medical Center. The subject of the conference is “Pay Close Attention to the New Progress of Malignant Lymphoma, Standardize the Treatment of Malignant Lymphoma”.

The Opening Ceremony of the conference

　　The conference secretariat invited the famous experts and scholars of clinical lymphoma, pathology and basic research to join the discussion on the standardized treatment and research and the latest progress of research on lymphoma in order to promote the global treatment of malignant lymphoma. Foreign experts including Prof. James Armitage, President of World Lymphoma Association, Prof. Franco Cavalli, former President of the International Union Against Cancer participated in the conference. Prof. LU Daopei from Peking University People’s Hospital and Prof. HAO Xishan, President of the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association attended the conference and delivered outstanding reports during the conference.

　　There were over 300 delegates took part in this congress. With the principle of promoting academic exchange and improving standardization of malignant lymphoma treatment, this conference served as a platform for academic exchange of experts from home and aboard and for upgrade the general level of lymphoma treatment in China.

　　The Unveiling Ceremony for the Sino-US Center for Lymphoma and Leukemia in Tianjin was held during the conference. As the first cross-border treatment center, it aimed at reinforcing the cooperation between China and US, training oncology doctors and contributing to lymphoma patients.

　　On the Opening Ceremony of the conference, the famous lymphoma scholars Prof. Guan Zhongzhen and Prof. Xu Liangzhong were awarded for their contribution to the lymphoma fields.
