President Hao Xishan, Vice Presidents Jiang Guoliang, Tang Bujian and Zhao Jiahong, General Secretary Zhang Guangchao, President Assistant Xuan Dongsheng, Deputy Secretary-General Wang Ying and Director of the head office Zhao Wenhua attended the meeting on August 7, 2009.

　　The progress of Science and Technology Awards was reported by Dr. Zhao Wenhua, Director of the head office and also the Director of the Office for Science and Technology Awards. The preparation started from May, 2009. 136 organizations were granted the right to recommend research and academic projects. The software for submission and evaluation were put into use. The website of CACA set up a column for the awards. The head of the Awards has decides the preliminary name list of the guide team. Dalian Holley Kingkong Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd would offer the fund for the Awards. The meeting approved the leadership, guide committee and guide team of the Awards.

　　Prof. Wang Ying reported the preparation of UICC World Cancer Congress 2010. The State Council approved of the holding of the meeting, meeting site being in Shenzhen instead of Beijing. On May 18, the International Union Against Cancer, Chinese Medical Association, and CACA signed contract to make sure the fund resources. In addition, the organizing committee, the scientific committee and preliminary program had been decided. The office of UICC China Spoke will be put into use on September 28-30.

　　Vice President Jiang Guoliang reported the 6th CCO which will be held in Shanghai on May 21-23, 2010 with the theme being “Fighting Cancer and making life more beautiful”. The conference would focus on the research on the tumor transformation and the advanced technology of early detection and treatment. The preparation work of the congress had complete.

　　The Breast Cancer Project finished it mission of 2008. 448,177 women received free breast health exam and 273 of them was found breast cancer patient and 23823 breast tumor, according to the director of the project, Dr. Chen Kexin. In 2009 and the next three years, the project will involve in the female of rural area. The Launching ceremony of the 2009 Breast Cancer project was held in Xi’an.

　　General Secretary Zhang Guangchao introduced the progress of “The Reform of Organizing Reform and the Policy Construction”. This activity was approved by the Science and Technology Reform of China in order to readjust the structure of leadership, establish democratic policy, standardized specialized committees, reform the affiliation system and administrative body, improve the policy construction and set up multi-phase economic support system. In this way, CACA could enhance its ability of academic communication, public education, external communication, continuous education, and accept the transferring of government function. The new working place (2,000 m2) of CACA was under decoration.
