It brings physical and psychological problem to our future world. Most of the obesity cases are not inherited obesity, but out of unhealthy diet, lifestyle, little physical activity. In western countries, obesity counts for 30% of all cancer incidences. It is the second carcinogen after smoking. The reason we launched the World Cancer Campaign in Tianjin is to raise awareness of the link between overweight, obesity and cancer, and to call on families, health care professionals and educators to help children eat a balanced diet and be physically active, so that they can keep a standard weight – setting them on the right path to reduce their risk of cancer later in life.
The Beijing Association of Health Education, SOHU.COM and CACA jointly sponsored a Live Video Interview on SOHU.COM under the banner of “I love my health active childhood – keep children away from obesity and cancer.” Doctors from Beijing Association of Health Education and Beijing Children’s Hospital were invited to spread knowledge to the public, “Periodic physical examination for children is as important as adults because early signals of cancer might be hidden by the growing pain or other diseases. Body fat and blood liquid level analysis as an essential part of the physical examination can predict the tendency of obesity, so that parents could take action to it.” Prof. Zhang also emphasized on the different method for weight reduction between children and adult. “Diet pills and blindly dieting is harmful for the growth of children. The weight of children should not be reduced sharply. Healthy diet and physical sport are the right way of losing weight for them.”
