Invited by Prof. Xishan Hao, the President of Chinese Anti-Cancer Association (CACA), Mrs Isabel Mortara, Executive Director of International Union Against Cancer (UICC) paid a productive visit to Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute & Hospital (TMUCIH) and CACA on March 6th,2008. Prof. Xishan Hao, President of TMUCIH, Prof.Ying Wang, Vice President of TMUCIH and Prof. Guangchao Zhang, General Secretary of CACA participated in the meeting with Mrs. Mortara.

　　During the visit, Prof. Wang gave a brief introduction to TMUCIH and CACA. In recent years, CACA has been working closely with UICC on cancer prevention, tobacco control and public health education in China. Afterwards, accompanied by the leaders of the Hospital, Mrs Mortara visited TMUCIH and CACA. Mrs Mortara expressed much interest and left a deep impression on the clinical and scientific research of the Hospital. She fully recognized our efforts in cancer research and control and said she will support the preparation of the UICC regional office in China. It is expected that more extensive exchanges and cooperation will be developed in the future. We are ready to work hand in hand with the UICC to move cancer control agenda forward and bring hope to cancer patients.
